Because Karen watched the video too many times...

So... stuff has been happening. But it's hard to make things stand out as worth typing out. Mostly I've just been whining about the weather. Because on July 5th (as my facebook status reported) it was 57 degrees, gloomy and gray skies, and I was wearing a sweater. It made me want to throw myself on the ground and kick and scream. It also led to several conversations with Jordan where I had to reassure myself that I won't live here all my life and turn into some kind of moss or fungus. Because that's what this place is mostly composed of.

But on to the good stuff... Pictures of the kid.

Here she is (in her pajama top and rain boots) eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (with real bread!) for the first time! I've successfully convinced her to eat peanuts and cashews, PB&J sandwiches and flavored applesauce. ....success. ha. Mostly I just try chanting to myself, "It's just a phase. It's just a phase. SERENITY NOW!"

Here's Adelle enjoying her first experience with a lick-m-aid. Still can't get her to touch apples, or ice cream for that matter. She has a very strange way of determining which foods are acceptable and I can't influence her whatsoever.

Oh! how did that get in here? Just an amazing shot I took with my amazing photography skills while we were out on Lake Washington for a rare warm day in June.

Here she is modeling a red dress and accidentally coordinating red rain boots. I like to pretend she's in some fancy pants magazine shoot.

Brace yourself for this next one.

BEHOLD!!! The most triumphant rat tail you've seen since 1987! Or possibly ever!! Jordan spotted this little future Trans-Am owner at a vintage car race on the 3rd of July. America. We're #1.

And in case that wasn't enough to stave off the starvation of your inner-redneck, feast on this...

The Evergreen Speedway does it again! The Dual Suicide Car Explosion. It's a complicated concept. Put two guys in a car and then blow it up. My favorite part is when the picture goes completely white because the camera can't capture all the light. All the awesome one evening could handle. Thank you, Extreme Night. I can't wait to go out with you again.

  1. This post made me pee my pants. It was perfect from cute girl in rain boots to rat tail. Does life get better than that?
