I have something to say.

When I read my friend's blogs I'm always so impressed with the many things they're doing and the lives their leading. One of the many reasons I don't post often is because, I'll admit it, the kid and I stick pretty close to home. I'm a lazy mom! Also, until recently Adelle slept for 4 hours during the day so what was I supposed to do? I facilitated the sleep. and I regret to admit mostly watched movies myself. lazy, lazy, lazy. But today... today is different. I have been doing things. aaaaand I got a fancy new laptop with an SD card reader so posting pictures is no longer an arduous and obnoxious process. But mostly, I have something "blogworthy." Here it is:
First of all, we're putting our condo on the market. We're hoping to move to a more rural area called Monroe. It's also, happily, the city that Jordan's brother Chandler and his family moved. Adelle loves playing with her cousins as much as I love chatting with their mother. and if we buy the right place... I could have chickens!

So putting our place on the market means TONS of cleaning up and reorganizing. In a week I rearranged all the furniture in our bedroom and living room, painted all the walls and (vaulted) ceiling in our largest living area, re-caulked a toilet, replaced towel bars, got the carpets cleaned, organized our closets... the list is on-going. And I say "I" in a very loose sense since Jordan has been a major player in all this work. As much as he can be anyway since he's had an awful cold and cough for a week. I still can't believe he helped me paint all day last Saturday before rushing off to Priesthood session! On Tuesday I was really intent on finishing the painting. The ceiling was the last to be done. I had taped off as much as possible and done all the prep I could and was completely overwhelmed by the task before me. As soon as Adelle went to sleep I started painting. I looked up at the ceiling and I felt hopeless. I was so frustrated that I wasn't going to be able to finish everything before she woke up, so frustrated that I was never going to have the place ready. I was ready to give up before I started. But I just kept painting. And to my surprise I was putting the final touches on the ceiling about the time Adelle woke up. But I didn't stop there. I painted over the accent wall in my bedroom and made dinner! This was monumental. I felt like super woman. It was just the boost I needed to try and tackle the million other little projects that feel like they're going to bury me alive before we list this little place on Monday. But it's great to realize this about myself. I'm actually not lazy. I just give up too soon. I really can accomplish a lot when I try.

Here's a couple BEFORE shots. I'll post the afters once The Realtor has given me some approval and validation. because I'm insecure and needy.

See that thing hanging above my fireplace? It used to be above the couch and when Adelle was a newborn she LOVED to look at it. I took it down so I could paint and I was dusting it. Adelle was very excited about this. She came running up and kept shouting "canuhl! canuhl!" and eventually it was all I could do to keep her from climbing up the thing. Eventually she started saying, "awwww canuhl. nice. nice canuhl. awwww." She wrapped her little arms around this black metal thing, looked at me and said, "hubvs? awwww. nice hubvs." That's her word for hugs. and she hugged it and hugged it. They really are nice candles.

I'll post the cute stuff about Easter tomorrow.
